Adrian Segar was in the process of self-publishing a manual entitled Conferences That Work, and needed a web team to design and produce an interactive site to promote the book. We chose WordPress as the content management system, because it had all the features our client needed and the administrative tools are easy to use. We built a custom template for his site, set up the blog, and added plugins for event management, contact forms, and other features. The site matches the look and feel of the book, and makes it easy for site visitors and potential book buyers to learn about peer conferences, view sample chapters, download extras, and most importantly, buy the book. Best of all, our client can manage the site himself using a convenient online control panel.
